2011 Fantasy Rankings – WR

31 07 2011

I really wish this list could just magically present itself to me in a dream. There are soooo many wide receivers and soooo little time before the season. I really will only talk about a handful of them in detail and list the rest out. It’s just easier for me and that is what’s important right now! Also, keep in mind that there are a lot of receivers currently not on teams, make sure to keep up with who is where, that could effect their value greatly.

1. HOU Andre Johnson / 2010 Stats:  86 REC, 1216 YDS, 14.1 AVG, 8 TD

If I could have Adrian Peterson turn into a wide receiver, it might be Andre. He’s the most consistent WR on the board and should be a beast in 2011 again.

2. DET Calvin Johnson / 2010 Stats:  77 REC, 1120 YDS, 14.5 AVG, 12 TD

I have big expectations for Calvin this year, in fact I have big expectations for the Lions… whoa is me.

3. ATL Roddy White / 2010 Stats:  115 REC, 1389 YDS, 12.1 AVG, 10 TD

Currently I have him No.3 but if this were skewed for PPR, he would be numero uno!

4. ARI Larry Fitzgerald / 2010 Stats:  90 REC, 1137 YDS, 12.6 AVG, 6 TD

Hopefully with Kolb at the helm, Fitz can have a bit of a bounce-back season in 2011. Not that 2010 was bad, but knowing who is QB’s were, makes you appreciate him even more.

5. GB Greg Jennings / 2010 Stats:  76 REC, 1265 YDS, 16.6 AVG, 12 TD

Huge numbers in 2010, should carry over. He had some monster games and with James Jones possibly gone, that’s more balls for Greg.

6. NYG Hakeem Knicks / 2010 Stats:  79 REC, 1052 YDS, 13.3 AVG, 11 TD

Had a better than expected year and I’m thinking he will be Eli’s No.1 again this year. There is a bit of worry in a crowded corp of WR’s but Steve Smith may not be back making room for a nice tandem in Knicks and Manningham.

7. IND Reggie Wayne / 2010 Stats:  111 REC, 1355 YDS, 12.2 AVG, 6 TD

About as steady a WR you could draft, Reggie will be solid again in 2011. May not get double digit TD’s but will always get close to or over 100 catches, which makes him really valuable in PPR leagues.

8. SD Vincent Jackson / 2010 Stats:  14 REC, 248 YDS, 17.7 AVG, 3 TD

2010 should have been the big year, but alas, contract issues got in the way. He came back just in time to show his potential. Maybe 2011 will be that big year.

9. KC Dwayne Bowe / 2010 Stats:  72 REC, 1162 YDS, 16.1 AVG, 15 TD

Talk about a nice year for fantasy owners, Bowe snagged 15 TD’s in 2010! Way more than people expected. I don’t think he can duplicate that number but could see more catches and yards.

10. PHI DeSean Jackson / 2010 Stats:  47 REC, 1056 YDS, 22.5 AVG, 6 TD

Not a PPR machine but that 22.5 AVG is best in the league and he will have closer to 65 reception in 2011.

11. PIT Mike Wallace / 2010 Stats:  60 REC, 1257 YDS, 21.0 AVG, 10 TD

12. TB Mike Williams / 2010 Stats:  65 REC, 964 YDS, 14.8 AVG, 11 TD

13. DAL Miles Austin / 2010 Stats:  69 REC, 1041 YDS, 15.1 AVG, 7 TD

14. DAL Dez Bryant / 2010 Stats:  45 REC, 561 YDS, 12.5 AVG, 6 TD

Could surpass Austin in total points, I almost look at them as equals going into 2011.

15. DEN Brandon Lloyd / 2010 Stats:  77 REC, 1448 YDS, 18.8 AVG, 11 TD

I may not be trusting Lloyd in 2011, forgive me, but his 2010 numbers speak loudly and all of his owners can attest, he saved seasons last year for a bunch of owners!

16. NO Marques Colston / 2010 Stats:  84 REC, 1023 YDS, 12.2 AVG, 7 TD

Could be downgrading Colston soon if he doesn’t get on the practice field. As of Aug. 10th, he has sat out 5 straight days. Pretty sure that is all of them. Coming off microfacture knee surgery can kill some careers. You have been warned.

17. NYJ Santonio Holmes / 2010 Stats:  52 REC, 746 YDS, 14.3 AVG, 6 TD

18. MIN Percy Harvin / 2010 Stats:  71 REC, 868 YDS, 12.2 AVG, 5 TD

Much more added value when he’s used out of the backfield tacking on 135 yards in 2010. He also had close to a thousand yards on returns for leagues that offer scoring for individual player return yards.

19. PHI Jeremy Maclin / 2010 Stats:  70 REC, 964 YDS, 13.8 AVG, 10 TD

20. MIA Brandon Marshall / 2010 Stats:  86 REC, 1014 YDS, 11.8 AVG, 3 TD

21. NE Wes Welker / 2010 Stats:  86 REC, 848 YDS, 9.9 AVG, 7 TD

With a more crowded list of receivers, Welker should still be a top target for Brady. After all, even with Moss, Welker put up huge PPR numbers.

22. BUF Steve Johnson / 2010 Stats:  82 REC, 1073 YDS, 13.1 AVG, 10 TD

His numbers suggest that he be higher but it’s Steve Johnson and to be frank, who is this guy again? Just kidding Steve, but you do have a name that is so forgettable.

23. SF Michael Crabtree / 2010 Stats:  55 REC, 741 YDS, 13.5 AVG, 6 TD

24. NYG Mario Manningham / 2010 Stats:  60 REC, 944 YDS, 15.7 AVG, 9 TD

25. BAL Anquan Boldin / 2010 Stats:  64 REC, 837 YDS, 13.1 AVG, 7 TD

26. SEA Sidney Rice / 2010 Stats:  17 REC, 280 YDS, 16.5 AVG, 2 TD

27. TEN Kenny Britt / 2010 Stats:  42 REC, 775 YDS, 18.5 AVG, 9 TD

28. IND Austin Collie / 2010 Stats:  58 REC, 649 YDS, 11.2 AVG, 8 TD

If Collie can play 16 this year, he will be a top 15 WR. Bank on that. Just don’t bank on him playing 16…

29. IND Pierre Garcon / 2010 Stats:  67 REC, 784 YDS, 11.7 AVG, 6 TD

30. CAR Steve Smith / 2010 Stats:  46 REC, 554 YDS, 12.0 AVG, 2 TD

31. NE Chad Ochocinco / 2010 Stats:  67 REC, 831 YDS, 12.4 AVG, 4 TD

Can’t wait to see what happens with the Ochocinco-Brady connection! I really want it to work out.

32. JAX Mike Thomas / 2010 Stats:  66 REC, 820 YDS, 12.4 AVG, 4 TD

33. WAS Santana Moss / 2010 Stats:  93 REC, 1115 YDS, 12.0 AVG, 6 TD

I might have Moss to low, never been a fan but he should get lots of targets this year.

34. GB Jordy Nelson / 2010 Stats:  45 REC, 582 YDS, 12.9 AVG, 2 TD

Stands to benefit the most if James Jones doesn’t stay with Green Bay. Keep an eye on that.

35. SEA Mike Williams / 2010 Stats: 65 REC, 751 YDS, 11.6 AVG, 2 TD

Even with newly acquired Sidney Rice, I think Mike showed last year, he can be a force all on his own.

36. SD Malcolm Floyd / 2010 Stats:  37 REC, 717 YDS, 19.4 AVG, 6 TD

37. CIN A.J. Green / 2010 Stats:  Rookie

38. CHI Johnny Knox / 2010 Stats:  51 REC, 960 YDS, 18.8 AVG, 5 TD

39. SF Braylon Edwards / 2010 Stats:  53 REC, 904 YDS, 17.1 AVG, 7 TD

40. GB James Jones / 2010 Stats:  50 REC, 679 YDS, 13.6 AVG, 5 TD

If he stays with GB, his numbers are not likely to go much further. His value may be greater if he moves to another team.

41. NO Lance Moore / 2010 Stats:  66 REC, 763 YDS, 11.6 AVG, 8 TD

42. NE Deion Branch / 2010 Stats:  61 REC, 818 YDS, 13.4 AVG, 6 TD

I was not a Deion guy when he came over to NE, but he proved me and a lot of others wrong. He’s worth owning as a low-end two or three.

43. ATL Julio Jones / 2010 Stats:  Rookie

44. STL Mike Sims-Walker / 2010 Stats:  43 REC, 562 YDS, 13.1 AVG, 7 TD

45. NO Robert Meachem / 2010 Stats:  44 REC, 638 YDS, 14.5 AVG, 5 TD

46. PIT Hines Ward / 2010 Stats:  59 REC, 755 YDS, 12.8 AVG, 5 TD

47. NYJ Plaxico Burress / 2010 Stats:   Incarcerated

Out and looking to perform for cross-town rivals the JETS. Plax is still a huge target and should be a red-zone threat immediately. We’ll see what kind of legs he has once he gets on the field.

48. GB Donald Driver / 2010 Stats:  51 REC, 565 YDS, 11.1 AVG, 4 TD

49. KC Steve Breaston / 2010 Stats:  47 REC, 718 YDS, 15.3 AVG, 1 TD

50. STL Danny Amendola / 2010 Stats:  85 REC, 689 YDS, 8.1 AVG, 3 TD

Word from camp is that Amendola is looking real solid. Could be this years Welker in McDaniel’s system.

51. BAL Derrick Mason / 2010 Stats:  61 REC, 802 YDS, 13.1 AVG, 7 TD

52. MIA Davone Bess / 2010 Stats:  79 REC, 820 YDS, 10.4 AVG, 5 TD

53. CIN Jerome Simpson / 2010 Stats:  20 REC, 277 YDS, 13.9 AVG, 3 TD

54. HOU Jacoby Jones / 2010 Stats:  51 REC, 562 YDS, 11.0 AVG, 3 TD

55. CIN/FA Terrell Owens / 2010 Stats:  72 REC, 983 YDS, 13.7 AVG, 9 TD

56. CHI Earl Bennett / 2010 Stats:  46 REC, 561 YDS, 12.2 AVG, 3 TD

57. DET Nate Burleson / 2010 Stats:  55 REC, 625 YDS, 11.4 AVG, 6 TD

58. CHI Roy Williams / 2010 Stats:  37 REC, 530 YDS, 14.3 AVG, 5 TD

Reunited with Martz in Chicago, Roy looks to regain his Pro Bowl form. Apparently Roy is over-weight and in danger of losing his starting job to Johnny Knox.

59. OAK Jacoby Ford / 2010 Stats:  25 REC, 470 YDS, 18.8 AVG, 2 TD

60. BUF Lee Evans / 2010 Stats:  37 REC, 578 YDS, 15.6 AVG, 4 TD

61. CHI Devin Hester / 2010 Stats:  40 REC, 475 YDS, 11.9 AVG, 4 TD

62. TB Arrelious Benn / 2010 Stats:  25 REC, 395 YDS, 15.8 AVG, 2 TD

63. PIT Emmanuel Sanders / 2010 Stats:  28 REC, 376 YDS, 13.4 AVG, 2 TD

64. CLE Mohamed Massaquoi /  2010 Stats:  36 REC, 483 YDS, 13.4 AVG, 2 TD

Has the talent to yield much better in fantasy but is on a team that doesn’t like to throw downfield. If the Browns take more chances, MM could have big upside… could.

65. PIT Jerricho Cotchery / 2010 Stats:  41 REC, 433 YDS, 10.6 AVG, 2 TD

66. WAS Jabar Gaffney / 2010 Stats:  65 REC, 875 YDS, 13.5 AVG, 2 TD

67. WAS Leonard Hankerson /  2010 Stats:  Rookie

There is some buzz about Hankerson being a sleeper pick this year and ESPN had him ranked at 60. Not sure exactly why, but they have some people that are in-the-know about these things, so I would listen.

68. STL/FA Mark Clayton / 2010 Stats:  23 REC, 306 YDS, 13.3 AVG, 2 TD

Started out on fire in St. Louis, if he can stay on the field, look for his numbers to double in 2011. UPDATE: According to ESPN, Clayton’s knee is still not healthy. Move him down accordingly.

69. FA/RETIRED? Randy Moss / 2010 Stats:  28 REC, 393 YDS, 14.0 AVG, 5 TD

We shall see if and how long this retirement lasts. Granted if the right situation doesn’t present itself, Randy will be done.

70. STL Danario Alexander / 2010 Stats:  20 REC, 306 YDS, 15.3 AVG, 1 TD

71. WAS Anthony Armstrong / 2010 Stats:  44 REC, 871 YDS, 19.8 AVG, 3 TD

72. CLE Greg Little /  2010 Stats:  Rookie

73. TEN Nate Washington / 2010 Stats:  42 REC, 687 YDS, 16.4 AVG, 6 TD

74. OAK Darrius Heyward-Bey / 2010 Stats:  26 REC, 366 YDS, 14.1 AVG, 1 TD

75. KC Dexter McCluster / 2010 Stats: 21 REC, 209 YDS, 10.0 AVG, 1 TD

Really like Dexter’s ability, just not sure how he’s going to be used this year. Listed as a WR, he has been playing out of the backfield also. And leagues where you get points for individual return yards, McCluster could be a nice sleeper.

76. HOU Kevin Walter / 2010 Stats:  51 REC, 621 YDS, 12.2 AVG, 5 TD

77. PHI Steve Smith / 2010 Stats: 48 REC, 529 YDS, 11.0 AVG, 3, TD

Steve Smith is officially back at practice for the Eagles, looks like Coughlin may have been off on his analysis of Smith’s injury…

78. MIN Bernard Berrian / 2010 Stats:  28 REC, 252 YDS, 9.0 AVG, 0 TD

79. OAK Louis Murphy / 2010 Stats:  41 REC, 609 YDS, 14.9 AVG,  2TD

80. MIN Michael Jenkins / 2010 Stats:  41 REC, 505 YDS, 12.3 AVG, 2 TD

81. SF Josh Morgan / 2010 Stats:  44 REC, 698 YDS, 15.9 AVG, 2 TD

82. ARI Andre Roberts / 2010 Stats: 24 REC, 307 YDS, 12.8 AVG, 2 TD

Someone has to start opposite Fitz and Roberts actually did the last two weeks in 2010. With Breaston gone, Roberts might actually be a decent sleeper pick.

83. DEN Eddie Royal / 2010 Stats:  59 REC, 627 YDS, 10.6 AVG, 3 TD

84. BUF Roscoe Parrish / 2010 Stats:  33 REC, 400 YDS, 12.1 AVG, 2 TD

85. OAK Denairus Moore  /  2010 Stats:  Rookie

Making big impact in camp with spectacular catches is making Denarius a nice flyer in the late rounds.
