Junkie’s Week 2 – Hits and Misses

16 09 2011

Wow, what a week one of the fantasy season. So many surprises and so many disappointments. I may have had a few duds but it’s going to get better this week… I swear!

To recap week one, I hit on Davone Bess who finished tied for 30th and Eric Decker (Sunday Lightning Player) was tied for 23rd. Not bad but I missed terribly on a few including Kyle Orton, Jerome Harrison (whom should have won the backup role after MoMo fumbled twice), Lance Kendricks and the Tennessee defense. I went a terrible 2-4 start the year but I have 16 weeks to make up for it. Starting now!

Here are some guys that could beat their respective rankings (From ESPN) to a pulp!

1. QB: Rex Grossman, WAS – ESPN Rank 15

Who knows, maybe week one was a fluke but you gotta admit he looked pretty good against the G-Men. Albeit, the Giants were decimated on the defensive side with injuries. But oh look, you say the Cardinals were decimated by injuries in the secondary… hmm… interesting.

2. RB: Brandon Jacobs, NYG – ESPN Rank 37

If the Giants can keep it close against the banged up Rams, Jacobs will have a better game. He should be a nice flex or lower end RB2.

3. WR: David Nelson, BUF – ESPN Rank NR

With Steve Johnson a little banged up this week during practice, I like Nelson to have another nice game. He grabbed 5 receptions for 66 yards in week one. As of Thursday night he still has the dreaded Questionable tag next to his name.

4. TE: Lance Kendricks, STL – ESPN Rank 19

Trying to beat a dead horse here, I know. I can’t help it. I developed a rather large man-crush on Lance and am holding fast that he is going to be huge this year! Don’t let me down Lance.

5. DEF: Denver Broncos – ESPN Rank 22

The Bronco’s are out to prove to its fans they are better than last year. The Oakland game was embarrassing, don’t expect Benson to have a McFadden like performance. I think coach Fox will get on his team hard in practice and they come out firing at Dalton or Gradkowski.

Let me know if you have any start’em/sit’em dilemmas! I’m here and will respond ASAP!
